1.6MW Shore-to-Ship Power System Overview

This advanced system enables efficient power supply to vessels during their production phase, with a focus on testing, optimization, and high-level production capabilities.

System Components

  • MV Transformer TMC TRANSFORMERS SPA – ensures stable and secure power supply within the medium voltage network.
  • MV Switchgear ABB Electrification SafePlus with REF615 – guarantees safety within the electrical grid, preventing unplanned shutdowns.
  • SISTEMA ACS880 SFC ABB Motion – a sophisticated frequency control system that enables voltage and frequency adjustments based on shipyard requirements, allowing precise power and load control.
  • Isolation LV Transformer TMC TRANSFORMERS SPA – enables secure switching between high and low voltage systems.
  • Automation System with ABB AC500 – allows remote management and monitoring of all system functions from the shipyard, improving efficiency and reducing the need for physical presence.
  • Cooling System – ensures optimal system temperature under all operating conditions.
  • Remote Station for SFC Control from the Vessel – allows operators to control the system directly from the vessel, enhancing flexibility and operational efficiency.

Key Features of SISTEMA ACS880 SFC

  • Stand-alone Mode – allows SFC to operate as a static grid with voltage and frequency adjustment capabilities without the need to stop the drive.
  • Parallel Mode – the SFC synchronizes with other power sources, operating in parallel using load control.
  • Load Mode – used for system testing, where the load level can be adjusted to match the nominal power of the SFC.

SISTEMA Shore-to-Ship System E-House Features

  • MV Input Options: 10/20kV
  • Output Options:
    • 440/690V with variable frequency between 50Hz and 60Hz
    • 400/600V, 50Hz via bypass

The SISTEMA SFC is controlled via HMI, giving operators full control over all system functions. All relevant information regarding status, measurements, and alarms is displayed on a customized HMI designed to meet the client’s specific needs. Measurements are collected through the communication link between the SFC and the medium voltage protection relay.

All alarms can be automatically sent to the client via e-mail, and third-party SCADA system connectivity is available for further monitoring and data analysis.

This installation meets the precise power requirements during the vessel's production stage and reflects SISTEMA’s commitment to developing sustainable and innovative electrical solutions that are shaping the future of the maritime industry.
